The written examination for recruitment to the posts of Sub Inspector Civil Police and other equivalent positions in Uttar Pradesh will be conducted on March 14 and 15 across the state. The examination is being organized by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB), with arrangements made at 1,090 examination centres spread across all 75 districts.

According to the recruitment board, the examination will take place in two shifts on both days. The morning session will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, while the afternoon session will take place from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Candidates appearing for the exam have been advised to arrive at their designated centres well before the reporting time to complete the necessary verification procedures.

The recruitment drive is part of Direct Recruitment-2025, under which a total of 4,543 vacancies have been announced for Sub Inspector Civil Police and other equivalent posts. The examination has attracted significant interest, with 15,75,760 candidates submitting applications. Of these applicants, 11,66,386 are male candidates and 4,09,374 are female candidates.

Authorities stated that a wide range of educational institutions have been selected as examination centres to conduct the test. These include government secondary schools, government degree colleges, universities run by the state and central governments, polytechnic institutions, and government engineering colleges. Officials said efforts have also been made to ensure convenience for female candidates by allotting examination centres within their respective divisions wherever possible.

To monitor the examination process and reduce the risk of malpractice, a three-tier control and command system has been established. Monitoring will take place at the examination centre level, district level and board headquarters through CCTV surveillance. Officials said these measures are intended to maintain transparency and ensure the exam is conducted without irregularities.

Security agencies, including the Special Task Force (STF), will also be involved in monitoring activities during the examination period. Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken if any candidate or individual is found engaging in impersonation, cheating, or other unlawful practices.

Candidates have been instructed to carry their admit card along with valid identity proof such as an Aadhaar card, driving licence or passport. They must also bring a black or blue ballpoint pen. Entry gates at examination centres will close 30 minutes before the start of the exam, and late entry will not be permitted.

Applicants whose Aadhaar details were not linked or verified during the application process have been asked to reach the centre at least two and a half hours before the examination so that verification procedures can be completed on time. Candidates are also required to bring an updated and unlocked Aadhaar card for identification purposes.

The board has also issued a list of prohibited items that candidates are not allowed to carry inside the examination hall. These include study materials, electronic devices such as mobile phones, smart watches and Bluetooth gadgets, as well as personal items like wallets, handbags, jewellery, caps and food products. Possession of any such items during the examination may lead to disciplinary or legal action.

Officials said candidates should follow all guidelines carefully to avoid inconvenience and ensure the smooth conduct of the examination.
