Videos of Jennie from BLACKPINK interacting with people asking for autographs in Paris during Paris Fashion Week have sparked online debate, with some accusing the star of being rude and arrogant. Fans, however, argue the individuals were resellers carrying stacks of merchandise, saying the K-pop idol may have been dealing with harassment rather than genuine fan requests.
It seems like a new day brings new controversy for Jennie of BLACKPINK. The K-pop superstar, known globally for her music and status as a Chanel ambassador, has long faced accusations of ungrateful behaviour towards fans. Her recent videos from Paris, captured during one of the fashion world's most glamorous weeks, appear to some as just the latest proof of that narrative.
Videos circulating online show Jennie in an interaction that has divided opinion. The footage was taken on March 8 in Paris, where she recently arrived to attend Chanel's Fall/Winter 2026 Fashion Week.
The video depicts Jennie, 30, walking near Place Vendôme when she is approached by several individuals carrying what appear to be stacks of photocards and albums. As she stops to sign items, she appears visibly frustrated. She can be heard saying, "Can I please have my day? It's gonna be very stressful for me." At one point, while signing, she makes an expression that some viewers have interpreted as dismissive when one person mentions the item is for their sister.
Social media reactions to the video have been sharply critical. One user who shared the footage wrote, "Imagine showing attitude and being rude to your fans who buy and stream your songs while in return they are literally just asking for an AUTOGRAPH.... at least be a little more considerate."Image credit : X/@jennierubyjane | BLACKPINK's Jennie is facing fresh 'rude and arrogant' accusations after tense encounter in Paris
Why some viewers are calling the interaction problematic

Others questioned whether the Seoul City hitmaker's response matched the situation. "Why does she always act like she's surrounded by a huge crowd when it's just her staff and four fans," another commenter observed.
"Fanwars aside, she's one of the most arrogant and ungrateful idols to ever exist," read one remark. Another focused specifically on her expressions during the signing: "'Guys, this is a lot' This lazy woman complains about the fans who support her and are the reason she even exists, even though all they ask for is just a signature. But look at her facial expressions and how lazy she looks while doing it."
Was she being harassed by resellers?
However, others who watched the same footage came away with a different interpretation. Some viewers noted that the individuals approaching Jennie were carrying commercial quantities of merchandise, stacks of photocards and multiple albums, which is not typical behaviour for casual fans seeking a personal memento.
One person claimed, "These aren't fans. They're resellers who stalk her whenever she's in Paris. I'm glad she finally stood up for herself and told them directly to leave her alone. Artists are human too. they're not tools for people to profit from."
The reseller phenomenon is well-documented in the entertainment industries worldwide. Individuals follow celebrities, particularly during high-profile events like fashion weeks, to obtain autographs and photographs that can be sold at a significant markup online.
If this context is accurate, Jennie's reaction takes on a different meaning. The stress in her voice when asking to "have her day" suggests someone who has been followed, possibly for hours, by people seeking to commodify her presence. The "weird faces" during the signing may reflect recognition that she is participating in a transaction that benefits only the reseller, not a genuine fan.

Here's the thing about Jennie: she's been through this rodeo before. Multiple times.
If these really were just fans who wanted a genuine moment with her, then yeah, the reaction might be a choice. But if they were resellers who had been tailing her all day, as she owed them rent money? Then, honestly, good for her.
