A viral claim about 'Disneyland Ohio' sparks a social media debate

According to the widely shared post, the supposed 'Disneyland Ohio' project would stretch across 50,000 acres, far surpassing the size of Walt Disney Resort in Orlando, Florida, which spans roughly 25,000 acres.

The claim also suggested that the massive resort would feature five theme parks, with two reportedly already approved. However, there is no credible information or official announcement from The Walt Disney Company supporting the existence of such a project in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Satire behind the viral Disneyland Ohio story

The story actually traces back to Mousetrap, a website known for publishing exaggerated and fictional Disney-themed rumours.

The site itself openly describes its content as satire and parody, confirming that the viral Disneyland Ohio story is not real, reports The Prime Timer.

Fact check: Is the Disneyland Ohio claim true?

As per the report, the Mousetrap article claimed the proposed Disneyland project in Cincinnati, Ohio, would feature multiple large attractions and extensive facilities. The report stated the first park would be a traditional Disneyland-style park, similar to other resorts worldwide, while the second would be 'Marvel Infinity Kingdom', a theme park entirely inspired by Marvel films.

The article also suggested the massive resort would include over 30 hotels, five golf courses, and even 100 pickleball courts, among other amenities.

However, these claims originate from Mousetrap, a satire website known for publishing fictional Disney-related stories. In fact, the same site earlier claimed in 2024 that a Marvel-themed park called the Marvel Infinity Kingdom was being planned.

Moreover, most recently, it also published another fabricated story suggesting that Donald Trump planned to visit Disneyland Park after the Iran strikes to 'celebrate' the event, further highlighting the site’s pattern of posting parody and satirical content rather than factual news.

However, the claim is completely false.
